Richard Sides’ works explore contemporary ideas of meaning as an existential problem. These often manifest as environments that refer to the site of the exhibition as an obstruction and a space with particularities to respond to. They are also sometimes curating shows in different spaces as well as co-running The Wig with Angharad Williams and Gianmaria Andreetta; an exhibition space, and running BUS; an imprint for publishing predominantly free editions of music, writing and physical objects. Recent exhibitions include The Wig, Bonner Kunstverein (2022); The Wig, Mostyn, Wales (2022); Time Without End, Fluentum, Berlin (2021); The Matrix, Schiefe Zähne, Berlin (2021); Tourism, Kunsthaus Glarus and Stadtgalerie Bern, Switzerland (2021); Ars Viva 2021, Hannover Kunstverein (2021). In 2020 he was awarded the Art Viva Prize.
