Artist-in-Residence
Steve Cottingham
Steven Cottingham is an artist working on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (Vancouver, Canada). His multidisciplinary practice concerns the tensions of profit (the production of more than is consumed) and friction (the consumption of more than is produced). Recent solo exhibitions include Signal chains at the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art (Kelowna) and Worldwide Cobweb at Wil Aballe Art Projects (Vancouver), both 2020. Currently he is co-editor of QOQQOON, an art theory webzine.
Steven Cottingham was selected for the 2016 Hnatyshyn Foundation-Fogo Island Arts Young Curator Residency.
