Artist-in-Residence
Yvonne Mullock
Yvonne Mullock is a graduate from The Glasgow School of Art and is currently located in Mohkinstsis/ Calgary, Alberta, Treaty 7 Territory. Her studio practice is multidisciplinary and spans interests in materiality and processes inherent in the act of making. Incorporating ceramics, sculpture, performance, video and textiles, Mullock’s work explores ideas of authorship, craft and labour for both gallery and site-specific installations.
During 2010-13 Mullock worked with Shorefast Foundation and Fogo Island Arts as lead artist for a community based quilt project. Working with artisans on both Fogo Island and Change Islands, this project reimagined traditional forms and techniques to furnish the Fogo Island Inn with locally made items that imbue the cultural customs and craft traditions of the region.
